A Program Manager’s Chronicles: The Stakeholder Whisperer
So here I am, living the program manager life.... basically the middle link between developers and, well… the rest of humanity. The devs have this big, shiny vision in their heads, and my job? Translate it into something the media team, the graphics squad, and the UI/UX folks won’t look at like, “What kind of sorcery is this?”
Then the questions start rolling in: “Why does it look like this?” “Who thought this was a good idea?” Meanwhile, I’m standing there like, “Guys, I don’t write code o, I just deliver the prophecy.” Messenger, not magician!
Of course, the logical bombs always drop too: “Did they not think of this?” And me? I’m just there smiling through the chaos like, “Fam, I no even know. I just dey manage vibes and peace.” Not my circus, not my monkeys.
But somehow, we always pull it off. Things start to click, the vision finally makes sense (eventually), and we all laugh at how confused we were just two days ago. At the end of the day, it’s messy, it’s hilarious, but it always works out and that’s the true adventure of being a program manager.
Because honestly? Half the time I’m asking myself, “Na who send me message sef?” But as long as the job gets done, we move.
Do I love my job? YES.
Will I rant about it again? Absolutely. 😅
And that’s me whispering my little chaos into the world one project, one laugh, one rant at a time.
